SO.............here is my little list of cheap mods recently.........
I dug out our old box of stereo stuff wanting to add a little more to the sound system. I found an old line level EQ with Sub, front & rear outputs, and a couple small amps. I also wanted to little more "bump" so I pulled out an old dual voice coil 8" sub that I scavenged from an old TV surround unit that died. Here is a before and after of the dash with EQ and the sub box (along with project 2 which was the wooden deck in the back to replace the long destroyed plastic/metal one).

No pics yet of my other little projects but I removed the bed light (pickup), fed a piece of wire over the headliner to the front and used it to pull a 2 wires back to the rear of the cab for a rear dome light feed! the back of this cab has ALWAYS been dark....not any more!
I also added a set of clear 55w halogen driving lights to the receiver hitch and wired them through a relay to be switched on with the reverse lights OR manually. I had the wire, relay, terminal ends and fuse block laying around so all I had in it was $16.99+tax for the lights at the Harbor Freight store............now THAT'S a reverse light!!!!

When I see trucks with lights hanging down like that, I can't help but think, those are getting busted off soon.

Did my $7 led gauge light conversion today. Bought the LEDs in a pack of ten off of eBay, just do a search there for T-10 LEDs. They have 4 SMD LEDs in each and there pretty dam bright. $6.99 and free shipping can't be beat.

Removed gauge cluster and started installing the new LEDs in the obviouse spots. There a dirrect fit for all but the two side lights for the temp, amp, oil, and fuel gauges. These are the tinny bulbs and as far as I have researched I have not found a dirrect replacement for these. Sooooo..... I simply took apart two of the T-10 LEDs and shimied them into the small holes then bent the leads across the contact points for the stock socket. I then tested to make sure the poles wher correct befor soldering them in place.

Hey guys, Mater here!
I know this might be off topic a bit, but I've been looking for the most bang for your buck suspension mods for my Tacoma, and I found out that ishock (world famous leader in UTV and ATV suspension) is now offering a Tacoma "Mid Travel Kit"!
Check it out on there website! I search some other forums and found their feedback favorable so far.

Just thought you might want to know!

Later!
Mater!

a company that is good at small toys like quads shouldnt branch off into full size trucks. if you want a good kit for tacoma, you should look at OME or ICON

Those are good kits for sure. But I don't think that's fair to condemn a good company for wanting to branch out into a new and very similar market.
Just my 2 cents.

Still looking for auxiliary lights? Not sure if your have Harbor Freight in your area but these look good and are inexpensive. HF also has amber ones. I'd recommend adding relays to the circuit, tho. I think this kit includes relays.

I'll post pics when i actually install this, and it's just going to be for the "had to do it factor" My dad told me when they were kids, and hung out at the local drive ins, they'd use a different wiper fluid type of bottle, run the window squirters under the dash to the inside of the car, and fill the resevoir with beer, or whatever. Hit the switch, have a cup, or just pop the tube into your mouth, and instant refreshment.

Also coming soon, Instead of a stereo, that theives seem to enjoy so much, just going to mount an inverter, and hook up Walmart/pawnshop/CL, PC speakers and sub combo, and just use my iphone/ipod for tunes. I'll have the 4 lil speakers and the sub that everything connects to for all the great sound i need.

Those lights are awful BTW. They might be worth a darn with 130w bulbs but they'd probably melt. And they don't include relays.

The only decent auxiliary lights I've seen from Harbor Freight are the work lights. Currently using two of them for backup lights and they're great.
