Shop that refubishes Aisin hubs.

Does anyone know of a place that refubishes Aisin hubs? I want to get them completely refurbished and powder coated. I was gonna get wabfab to do it, but they haven't replied to my emails in reference to the turnaround time.

This is my gas saving rig as well as my hunting rig, so I don't want to have it down for too long waiting on the hubs.

I'm hesistant to refurbish them myself, but if I can't find anybody... I have the tools to do everything but the powder-coating.

I heard there was something wrong with their system where they didn't get any emails for a couple days. I'd try to email them again.

EDIT: I just went back through my emails and there was one from them saying "Website email was being squirrelly but it should be fixed now thanks to the IT head goat." This was from Friday.

There are so many write ups on how to clean and rebuild them, there should be no reason to send them off for rebuild. It's really easy.

I'm just hesitant about all the little parts, I usually have parts left over when I do a project

Great point, plus he'll save $. All you need is a sandblaster/solution to strip off the old paint and grime, grease, and paint or powdercoat.

Maybe you should take the time to take before pictures of whatever you're dis-assembling so you know where everything goes. It also helps if you have a FSM. For Aisin hubs, there are very few parts and their placement is fairly obvious, except for the big spring. That needs to go in a certain way.

Bag and tag all of the parts, especially the little spring and ball.

i reckon I'm gonna try it myself then. I do have a FSM.

I replaced the gaskets not too long ago, but they've started leaking grease again. Will fording water cause gasket issues in the hubs? Thats the only thing that I can figure might be causing it.

Do one at a time so you can check your work if you have problems. They really are simple.

Don't put too much grease in.

like AZToy said, take one apart at a time so you have reference. Get some solvent and grease, strip it down, clean it and put it back together. If you really care about the looks you can strip and paint them too. You'll be happy you know how they work and they really aren't that complicated. It'll put a smile on your face every time you turn the hubs and they lock nice and easy.
