Running AMSOIL

Hey, does anybody here run AMSOIL in their Toy? If so I'd like to know about it.

I have a really good friend that runs AMSOIL in every sqare inch (that needs it, anyway) of his Nissan Frontier 4WD trucks, and he has a great experience with it. 275-300k miles and they all run virtually like new when he sells 'em.

Any comments, thoughts, or personal experiences much appreciated.

I'm considering running it in everything in my '93 (crankcase, gearbox, front/rear diffs, and t-case. Pretty much everything except for the obvious bits, like brake and clutch systems.

Thanks,
Bunta

I've ran Amsoil in my Tundra since the beginning. My brother also runs it in his vehicles. I've had really good luck with it. Nothing like 300,000 to back that up, but I'm hoping for it.

I did, but switched to Mobil 1 because I can get it around the corner.

I have it in my diffs, and t-case. I did have it in my transmission, but it made my shifting not so good. So, I had to replace it with Redline MT-90-just the transmission. It seems to be a common issue with the manuals.

I'd also avoid it in the auto trannys too. I use Redline in all my diffs and Tranny and M1 syn in the engine.

Guys who have problems with shifting with Amsoil are running the wrong Amsoil gear lube! I put GL4 75w90 Amsoil Manual Transmission and Transaxle fluid in my manual transmission and it shifts great. My transfer case/front & rear diffs I run Amsoil GL5 75w90 Long life gear lube and it works great too.

I just switched my oil over from Mobil 1 10w30 to Amsoil 10w30, after having run the Mobil 1 10w30 for about 35,000 miles since I picked up the truck (I do have to admit I agree with the above, Mobil 1 is much more readily available and conveniently packaged), and I'm thinkiing I might keep using Amsoil Oil on top of having already put it in all my diffs/transfercase/transmission.
