Who make a quiet high flow muffler?? I am building a truck for a client that is in an area with noise pollution. So this truck needs to be quiet, almost factory quiet, however I have no cat and a 2.25 exhaust pipe off my header. What do you guys think?

 

The borla turbo mufflers are pretty quiet, but offer good flow. I would stick a hi-flow cat on there, that would defantly quiet it up.

 

a Flowmaster 70 just barely has a tone to it, a 60 would be just a slight bit louder and deeper. I agree with Jay351 to use a hi flow cat to assist in noise
removal.

Which engine is this for? I had a Flowmaster 60 on my 22Re 95 4Runner and it sounded good, not loud, just a good rumble. 2.25" in and output.

ok then I highly recommend a Flowmaster 60-I don't know much of anyone who would call it loud. If you think it might be too close to loud, then just step down (or up I guess depending how you look at it) to a 70 series.

They are a steal at Summit Racing and I got my cat cvtr from them also.

Yea just run 3" test straight from the block... it wont be lowd at all...

 

I'd go with a Borla Turbo Muffler. My stock Borla system is relatively quiet compared to others I've heard. Having a cat helps too.

 

What about those Flowmaster Hush Power series mufflers? I think they are supposed to be more quiet than the 70's

 

I have a truck running a glass pack, with the header is sounds nice, but the guy that is buying the truck says it is way to loud. Personally I think the header improves the sound of the truck alot. And for the record I don't think it is loud at all...LOL!

why not sell the truck to the guy and tell him to do his own exhaust work if he doesnt like the setup you have on it?

 

That is part of a custom build? A muffler is not a big thing, I am building the exhaust already, I will just weld on a different muffler.

 

when you get it squared away, we'd love to see/hear some results. i am looking for a similar solution for our 97 civic. right now it has full racing exhaust (previous owner) and we need it to be quieter but i still want to take advantage of the power. let us know what you come up with.

 

Mines good and quiet, $40 Cherry Bomb "Turbo", its not a glasspack.. Im running strait pipe to it then a dump behind the cab with my 22R and its way quieter than I expected, with a full length system id say it would sound just a little meaner than stock.
