Por15

I searched, and couldnt find anything....but was wondering..

I know a couple guys on here used POR15. What did you think? Was it worth it? How well does it hold up? Does it actually stop the rust? Its a little expensive, but might be worth it as a little spring project for my 2 4runners up here in Central New York.

Also I remember a while ago a guy on here was talking about discounts off of stoprust.com but I cant find the thread or the guy. Can we still get a discount? Thanks

I used it on my axles, parts of my frame and my rear bumper and tire carrier. I like the product and it seems to be holding up really well. Just be sure that the surface is clean of any loose material be it rust flakes, dirt or grease. The only problem I had was doing one area and then coming back to blend that to another new area it was impossible not to see the line between the two.
Also keep in mind that you will need to paint with a UV protecting paint since POR15 is really more of a primer. It will fade if left on its own...not a big deal under the rig but if the area sees sun then paint over it.

Look at rust bullet, it's a bit easier to apply.

I've used POR on my rig before, but IMO, it's not worth the mess (if the stuff gets on your skin, it will not come off for a full week.). Cheaper alternatives exists that are just as good as preventing new rust from forming as POR is and they are not nearly as messy to apply as POR is.
