painting aluminum rims black
I have my original aluminum rims from my 90 Toy, they are now on my 87 toy. The tirea are 33" BFG's. Since my 87 is completely black I think I would like the look of the rims being black as well. My question is, is there any way that I can paint these rims black, and if so what is the procedure? Do I have to sand blast them first or is it not even a good idea. Let me know.
Here is a semi close up of what rims I have.

Search, dude it's been done a bunch of times. My suggestion would be to rough them up real good with like 400 grit or 320 grit paper, then get all the sanding dust off. At kragen or autozone, they actually sell wheel paint, just get black and spray that stuff on. Mask off your tires!

I did search but most likely got impatient. I will try again and be more patient. But, thanks for the info.
Hey, just saw you are in San Diego, never been there but am taking the fam there for a week this summer. Cannot wait.

Dude that would be the coolest thing in the whole world. Problem is I would love to take my truck but it wont fit in my luggage on the plane and I am absolutly positive that my wife would make me do "family time". Oh well. Do you ever make it out to Moab? We go the 1st full week of June yearly.

It did real well, the problem was that I was paranoid and was not too sure how it would handle or if it would break. Once I got used to it and realized that I could pretty much abuse it and let it do its job it works fine. I have done some hard trails here in Colo with my friends who all drive jeeps and it does as good and in some cases better then the jeeps. The Chaos is built pretty damn tough and it does take the punishment well. I love it.
