MSD 6A on 22RTE

HI The diagram shows 1 wire coming off my pos. side coil. I have 2 wires on 1 ring connected to the pos. Do I just treat them as 1 wire?
I have an 86 4x4 22rte 5sp.

All I see is a picture of your truck.

I ran a 6A on my 22RE. You have to run the Tach adapter 8910 EIS I think. MSD site has diagrams.

Sorry I was just referring to the diagram I have from MSD (not posted). I have the 8910eis. It doesnt explain what to do with the second wire on the pos. side of the coil. Hoping somebody can look at their rig tell me what they did.

Spideynut, I don't remember exactly cause I installed a 6A on my 22RE awhile ago but I believe the wires that originally went to your coil from the Igniter (Amplifier) will now go to the wires on the 8910-eis tach adapter. Negative to negative and positive to positive. I think I also connected the red wire from the 6A (that goes to the ignition switch) to the postive Igniter wire. So for example...The 8910-eis instructions say to connect the red wire together with the red ignition wire from the 6A box, then I connected that to the 2 wires connected to the same ring that originally went to the positive side of the coil. You treat that as one wire. The black wire from the 8910-eis then connects to the negative side coil wire coming off the igniter. Instead of splicing I used a small screw and nut to bolt the rings together, then wrapped in wire loom, not that this matters but this way is easier to return to a stock iginiton if you have to remove your MSD parts. Hope this helps, I'll be installing a new Digital 6A on my 22RE soon in the same way.

Yes, that's how I'm going to do it. Just wasn't sure what to do with the 2 wires terminated on 1 ring. I will treat them as 1. I have a 22re diagram from msd if you want it?

Thanks for the schematic. Wish I had this in the beginning, had to figure it out myself.
Make sure you have the proper coolant ratio (50/50) when using the MSD. I lost a couple of cylinder heads from electrolysis cause my coolant ratio was off. Yeah I'm from Mililani O'ahu but I live in Glendale AZ now. It's definitely not home.

Almost right but not quite, had to call MSD today for tech support cause I connected everything like my old 6A box, then the truck wouldn't start. With the Digital 6A it will be slightly different - MSD told me to disconnect the magnetic connector (green & violet wires) as this connector will not be used. The other 2 wires coming off the 8910-eis tach adapter are red and black, red goes to small red wire from Digital 6A box and also the (+) 2 white wires from the igniter (crimped to the same ring terminal)...so you should have 4 wires connected together. The black wire from the 8910-eis will connect to the (-) black wire off the igniter and also the small white wire off the Digital 6A box (3 wires for this connection). The white wire off the Digital 6A box is what will trigger the fuel injection system to work properly. Did this change earlier tonight and my 4Runner fired right up, running good so far.

I did the same thing. I have a Corola 22re schemadic that used the white wire from the MSD to trigger. I was hesitant because the 8910 had a white wire not a blk wire on the diagram. Well I did and it fired right up!! The magnetic connection would just make the truck rummble but not run. Like it wasnt getting enough fuel or spark..
I just got done gapping the plugs to .040 and advanced the snot out of the poor little motor.

Runs like a bat out of hell

well for a 25yr old 4x4.....
