Most reliable engine made?

first off this excludes diesels, so don't even try but what i am looking for is everyones opinion on what is or was the most day in day out reliable engine ever made? I would like to start by throwing out two that i can't decide which is more reliable First the 1UZFE-4.0 V8 found in the Lexus LS-400 models, Second would have to be the famous 22re 4cyl. I would tend to lean more towards the 1UZFE just because i have seen these engines personally with upwards of 500,000 miles with no major rebuilds on a consistent basis. Now it's your turn tell me what you think is the most reliable Engine ever made.

The best selling car ever the bug and from 1935 till today they are still rolling down the road with little more then adjusting the valves and oil changes most certianily not the most powerful (25 hp)or fastest but reliable as hell.

I have seen 3.4's go 500k, but the 22re is ultra reliable.

However the single most reliable engine I have ever witnessed was a chevy 350 that was in 1985 4x4 truck. That truck was beat to hell but had regular maintenance and the original engine had a whopping 600k on it.. I dunno if its still being driven since this was a year ago but damn it worked good.

I'd say 22R, Chevy 350, 4.3 Chevy V6, or 4.9 Ford I6.
I've seen all of those motors go 300k+

***Edit***
I looked through the Integra post again (it had been a while). Don't forget the Honda D16. 939899! 8 timing belts and 3 clutches.

4.0 Jeep, The VW motor from most of the Bugs(old), the Chevy 350, The Chevy 4.3 v6, the Buick 3.8, the ford 4.9 I6, the 22-R(E) , the 3VZE. There are a few more that I will add later that I can't think of right now.

BTW, those are not in any particular order.

After alot of searching, I find the 3.4L is expected to make 300K+. I hope that is the case for mine. So I am biased

The Subaru EJ22 with and without a turbo is just about bullet proof. Otherwise I'd say the 3.4 from what I've read.

there has been a few responses out there that i would not have expected, the chevy 350 i can see for sure, my father in law has one with 235k on his, the reason i picked the 1uzfe lexus V8 wass because of two cars in particular when i was working at lexus one had 678k with no rebuilds just routine maitenance and the other had a crazy 735k with no rebuilds just routine maitenance maybe i am biased because i own one. As for the 22re i had a 91 short bed that had 324k when i sold it all i ever did in 200k was timing chain, and valve adjusts.
