Lug nut question: minimum # of thread wraps needed for safety?
I have a set of LC wheels laying around with no tires, they are the ones which using cone shape lug nuts(conical, without washer). currently I have the limited edition wheels on with the mag lug nuts(with washer), for DD.
out of curiosity, I tested the LC wheels today because of the bigger Tundra brakes. they cleared the calipers just fine, but I noticed the cone lug nuts only have 5-3/4 wraps around the wheel lugs.
will that be enough for driving safely? I'm planning getting some 265 size MT tires on them.

You generally want at least one stud diameter worth of thread engagement:

So on an M12x1.50 stud, 12mm dia. / 1.50 thread pitch = 8 turns
