looking for retaining washers

I'm looking for these retaining washers that are on the mounting bolts of the seat belt assemblies of my truck. The parts guy at my local Toyota dealer said they cannot sell them seperate because they are part of a safety device. I've seen similar washers in carburators, trannsmissions, etc... but cannot find anyplace that sells them. Anyone been down this road already and found a source? I'm not sure what they are made of, but they might be compressed asbestos/fiber/or paper.

Thanks.

Try the local hardware store, like Lowe's/Home Depot...they have quite a selection of automotive bolts/fasteners/washers like that...I'm sure you can find something that will work. I have a local specialty place that carries all that stuff...if you can't find it locally, let me know and I'll give you their phone number. I'm sure they'd have it, but then you'd be looking at $5.00 shipping for a $0.05 part.

Those are a plastic washer that reduces vibration from the body by eliminating metal to metal contact w/ the seatbelt connection and they also hold all the extra stuff on the bolt, so it doesn't all fall off when you take the seatbelts off...they are on all the seatbelt bolts.

You could always find a junk set somewhere, off anything, and get the plastic washer.

Junkyard perhaps? http://www.car-part.com/

Most any vehicle should work, Toyota uses a 7/16-NF bolt for the seat belts, I think it is pretty much a standard size on all vehicles. Here are some for a 3/8" bolt, could probably be made to fit on 7/16"
