Yeah, unless you find a truck the DAY it gets there, anything with exposed bolts will be gone within an hour. It's pretty insane.

Lol I walked into pick and pull the other day and there was a 97 sitting there that got there 3 hours before I did and the whole motor. tranny, drive shaft. Everything was gone.

interior was almost completely gone... I got a clock though. That was the only thing I got from that whole 4runner. and I could have used anything on it. Just got there a little to late.

i remeber a thread like this a few months ago....

we are pretty lucky around here, a lot of guys are gung ho american motors and hate yota's! so a lot of em STILL remain untouched, put in a new battery and fire em right up! haha yeah right

i like taking old shifter knobs and misc. interior pieces, swappin in a "beefier" different horn would be a fun easy afternoon project, i always keep an eye out for cherry bombs and purple hornets too!! always load up on fuses, the possibilities are endless, junk yards r awesome!!
the last time we went we found a birth certificate in a glove box...

It would be nice to have a write up of what will fit & what won't I.E. wheels, alternators, belts etc. that could be printed out or something in case you're traveling & can't get the specific Toyota part.

Around here we don't even get Toyota's in junkyards. There are rumors of them being in the ones down in Little Rock but of the few we have here (that I know about) one never has any, one acts like they don't want you to approach the property & the other deals in new wrecks & won't let you go look around on your own, you have to tell them specifically what you want & they will tell you whether they have it or not from a computer inventory.

I guess im lucky here in NC. In Marion NC theres a yard that has at least ten 4runners and a lot of trucks. The bad thing is the owners son has one and the good stuff is gone early. Where i am this is a 4runner thats the same color, Interior color and the only things missing are the tranny and a few interior parts. The engines blown though.

Its the same way here, you just about have to be standing there when a truck or 4Runner is put out in the yard at pic n pull or everything is gone in about a day. I get lucky every now and then and find the things i need to make upgrades or replace missing or broken parts. It does take a lot of searching sometimes to find what you need.
