Intake issues?
My 02 runner has a full Borla exhaust , but still has the factory intake. I want to install a k&n intake but am unsure about how it will affect the engine temp this summer, it gets hot down here! Any pros+cons would be appreciated!

Welcome!
Honestly, the K&N intakes are much more for show than performance, unless your 4Runner is an all out race vehicle. The stock factory intake brings in cold air and has been designed to not be restrictive.
As for engine temperatures, you probably won't see much of a difference.

Agreed. The stock intake really isn't restricting a 3.4 in any way. It does pull in fresh air nicely and the oem filters work excellent. My experience with K&N haven't been great. I find them to be some of the worst filtering filters ever. Every one I've removed I have found thick layers of dirt in the intake. They also need to be oiled which then makes the dirt stick to the intake and the MAF. They seem to keep the sticks and stones out but that's about it.
