IFS Manual Hub Restoration

Picked up some hubs from an 86 IFS truck for my 92 4runner, heres some progress of how they're turning out! I didn't get any pictures of me cleaning the base but its all nice, shiny aluminum now.

Like I said, they'll be going on my 92 4runner. theres 2 primer coats, 3 black on the hub face, 3 red on the dial and 5 coats of clear baked onto them both. Gonna see if that holds up

All paint products I used were Rustoleum.

sweet. good job. I'm still debating whether I want to put AISIN hubs on or keep the Warns that are on it now.

I misplaced the ball bearing on one of the hubs... but I just ordered a set from WabFab. Also ordered a Optima Battery mount from him too guess we'll see how things turn out whenever I get the goods!

I just bought some cheapy heat gun at home depot, sprayed the clear, and hit it with the heat gun kinda "baking" it on. it worked well. and it appears pretty durable.

Are you gonna razor blade the letters? I assume you aren't since you already clearcoated em. The paint looks really good.

Nah, I didn't bother with that. it looks cooler, but I just wanted to get them done, and looking nice. they look just fine the way they are i'd say.

haha yeah they better hold up. they almost feel plastic because of all the coats of clear on it.

Heres some pictures of my manual hubs finally assembled. Thanks to 93yotaSR5, he assembled them in a meer 10-15 minutes instead of having me thumb through internet instructions. lol
