IFS hubs on Solid Axle

Just wondering if anyone has ever used this set up. Im missing a few peices from my sa hubs and figured i might try something else before hunting the peices down.

I read here that you can use IFS hubs on a solid axle, but not the other way around. 7th paragraph down says it. Good article too!

Do you mean the whole hub (brake rotor, etc) or just the manual hub?

The Pirate thread is the place for using IFS hubs/rotors instead of wheel spacers.

Longfield has manual hub gears to use IFS AISINs with SFA.

Here's the deal guys.

First off, the LOCKING HUBS, which is the part with the dial, are NOT interchangeable from IFS to SA. SA has a 30 spline gear and the IFS is 26 spline. Some of the other internal parts are interchangeable though.

The HUB BODY, which is what the OP linked to, can be swapped if you use the right parts. Basically, you use IFS HUB BODYS, LC rotors, IFS calipers, SA LOCKING HUBS, and the special spacer. This gains 3" of width over the stock SA length.

I've never used it, but plenty of people on pirate use it with no problems that I know of.

Sort of. Stock you cannot convert them. With the longfield gear above, you absolutely can.

Guys on pirate are running IFS hubs with no spacers just fine.

I've never seen these. Pretty cool. But at $65 a pop, you can find used SA hubs for a lot cheaper. Good for a strength upgrade, but not to simply use to convert IFS hubs to SA.

If you have IFS hubs though, its not bad. I plan on using those for a FF set up in the back.

Also, the hub gears are required for the lifetime warranty on the Longfields to be valid, so you're gonna pay it anyways - this just opens up your selection for hub bodies A LOT.
