Does anyone have good tips for removing the ring gear from an ARB? I don't have a press, just the usual hand tools. I'm not going to reuse the ring gear, but I don't want to damage the ARB while taking it off.

How I got the ring gear off my factory carrier was to use a thin prybar and beat it between the gear and the flange, working it around a little at a time.

How they are typically installed is to put the ring gear in the oven. I'm not sure if you could heat the ring gear with a torch and get it to expand enough.

 

big deadblow hammer, or a big steel hammer and a brass punch, and get mad, it will come off

 

I have a torch and a couple of hammers, so between those should be able to get that off.
