Free. I inherited it when my uncle passed away-it was his pride and joy so I was glad to have it. When I got it looked like this:

A lot of work and about $1200 later...

amazing bit of engineering

I am impressed at the ingenuity you show in getting back home. Good work, hope you didn't tear up anything other than the steering knuckle bolts.

Bought mine in Oct 2007 for $350. '90 Dlx 4x4 standard cab. Came with brand new 31's, alloy 4runner wheels, six disc CD changer, and a bunch of rust included for no extra!

it was just the bolts that sheared off in the spindle. I was able to weld a nut to one to back it out but the welds would hold strong enough on the other stud to back it out, even after heating up the spindle.

Grade 8.8 bolt sheared first then the 10.9 sheared, and i got very lucky that nothing else happened.

2001 Tacoma Stepside SR5 TRD package. Bought Aug., 2002 used from a dealer in C'Da, Idaho. Dealer found it in Montana, trucked it in the next day. They were asking $22,000, I talked them down to $15,000. Payed it in full 2 yrs later. It had 1,860 miles on it, I still own it until now and I just turned 53,000 miles on the ticker. Guess I'm still breaking her in..........

I remember the day I inspected, in order to buy it... Love at first sight...!!!
_I could not believe how good she was, being an 86 truck...

In Mexico this are imported cars, and I was afraid of not being able to find spare parts...A mechanic friend took a look at it and told me: If you don't buy it, I will...

So, I bought it in 2009 here in Acapulco, 165,800 milles. 2,313 USD.
...Stock truck, came from Las Vegas almost 100% free rust.

3 years latter I have spent that same amount of money in spare parts and tires.
All of them original parts that I can fortunately purchase at the stealership...

89 pickup dlx 4x4 with a 22re and 5 speed. So far all I've done is silicone vacuum lines and a battery/air intake swap. It had 186xxx miles on december 26, 2011 when I bought it in lexington, va. Now has 200xxx miles and lives in charlottesville, va.

I've gotten a few strange looks from Porsche, BMW and the occasional Lotus driver....haha, I think it's funny.
