$6200 CDN for a 99 4runner with a 3.4L V6 & 230k's. It was a good deal since where I live it's almost hard to find one in good condition for that price because they are sooooo much in demand!

I paid $8500 for my 02' Sport w/ 110k. $500 under clean trade in. It has everything: Leather, sunroof, center diff lock, hood scoop, Black Onyx, remote entry, tires have about 4/32" left and will need to be replaced soon, and timing belt hasn't been done yet. All freeway miles. Just put a few maintenance items (spark plugs fluid changes and belts) into it and it runs and drives like a champ.

This is what my current truck looked like when I bought it for $1k - '88 4runner, 4 cyl, 5 spd - windshield broken - trans shot - clutch gone - no RF rotor (brake pad backing plate was actually squeezing the cooling vanes) - rear drums seized - wheel bearings shot - interior mildewed & wet (rear window stuck open) - rusted fenders all around - god awful conversion van graphics down the side

the shift boot had a whole eco-system living on it

3 years later:

no more 4cyl

now I'm working on the suspension and brakes

I paid $4,500 for my 2000 4Runner SR5 with 110k miles a couple months ago. Its got the basic options: power windows/locks, 4wd, moon roof. I'm not really a Toyota guy but I like it pretty well so far.

paid $300(yes $300) for my 2000 4 runner limited 4wd. lady that bought my jetta just wanted out of her driveway as she didn't want to deal with the repairs-was about to call a salvage yard to take it away...
needed some cosmetic work(missing mouldings, new bumpers),new rear cat and 02 sensor(prev one was stolen),minor body work. luckily interior is in good perfect shape, cold a/c...180k miles
so far i replaced all of those and did a complete timing belt job ,fluid change and spent almost $800 for all the parts(ebay)...she's running perfect now and just passed md state inspections-saved a ton and did all the work myself
just love driving it...
here's when i first brought/drove it home...

I just recently bought a 2002 sport edition with 110,000 miles for $9800. Not sure if I overpaid. I kinda fell in love with it right away. I sold my '97 with 215k miles on it for 4k, and turned around the next day and got the '02.

Hmm, when I bought my '97 4WD Ltd back in 2001 I paid $20k for it with 45k miles on it. Today in it's rust-free, garage kept condition with 123k miles, and the various upgrades (Tundra brakes, 2nd Gen SC, new tires, new Bilsteins and the timing belt/water pump work done 1.5yrs ago) I would expect the value to be basically about $6k on the open market.

If I could replace the carpet and floor mats with new originals - the value in my opinion would be higher as those are really the only parts showing wear.

Down here in Houston, most are 2WD with higher miles that I see going for a bit less money.

$17000 in September of 2002
First vehicle my wife and I ever bought together. Her DD from then until this month when she took over our 80 series.

1997 4runner Sr5 with Leather, wood grain, and sunroof and new tires. 65K miles.

Oldest picture I can find on this CPU- Balding Goodyear street tires and stock bumper. I only wheeled it a few times locally before I bought my fj62 in 2003.

December 06-
TJM T15 was added after deer #2, its taken out 2 or 3 since then with very little damage. KC Daylighters

Jan 09-
07 4runner Sport 17s and 265/70/17 Toyo AT's added Lightforce 240s

I have considered selling it to get a 100 series LC several times, but just havent done it. Now that I will be driving it I think I may put a lift on and do a few other mods.
