Bought my 98 4Runner SR5 V6, 5 years ago with 99 000 km's on it for 21 G's. It had some minor surface rust in the Inner Door jams, and around the windshield. It also had many, and I mean many dings and dents. I think they used to park it near a golfing range or something...lol! I think I paid too much, but at the time, it was the only one in town, and I bought it from the Toyota Stealership. It's been a great rig though, definately would buy another Toyota!

I bought my 97 4Runner in Nov. '01, stock w/ 90K on it for $15,000. Best truck I've ever owned. Almost 190K on it now.

11,900 cdn for a mint 98 SR5 A/T with 124,000 km or 77,500mi for those using the antiquated system
They don't use salt where this vehicle came from, either.

1996 and 1998

I paid $1500 for a used 4runner 1996 and $3300 for a 1998. The 98 needed a transmission. These were bought at the auction.
A Steal indeed . http://www.used-4runner.com Mike

1991 SR5 sunroof 31's no leather, every other option. 26k and change at the Toyota dealer at the time in Lexington Park, Md. Best part was he never paid off the Dodge D-50 we traded in. Didn't find that out till about 6 months later. By then the shop had closed our old truck was no where to be found. Then was on the hook for balance due on that truck as well. Did it to a buddy that traded for a new Pickup as well.
Moral of the story, always insist on seeing the paid off paperwork when trading in a car

'03 double cab, 4wd, spotless, 73k miles = $18,500 (the same week that my mom bought a brand new frontier double cab for $19k)

$1,000 for my '88 4runner, 4 cyl, 5 spd - windshield broken - trans shot - clutch gone - no RF rotor (brake pads were actually squeezing the cooling vanes) - rear drums seized - front wheel bearings shot - 1 locking hub frozen - interior mildewed & wet (rear window stuck open) - rusted fenders all around - god awful conversion van graphics down the side - 200k+ miles

In 2003, I paid 10,500 for a 97 SR5 with 105,000 miles to replace my wrecked 98. I'm still driving it, now it has 220 + miles. Replaced tires, batt, shocks, front brakes, plugs, wires, O2 sensor and one timing belt during the time I've had it. (Due for another timing belt soon). Other than those normal wear items its been a great SUV.
