417,000 '89 4WD 3.0 3vze. Bought it new, has the same engine but I too just blew a head gasket. I finally got down to getting the heads off. (whew). What a bee-otch. She's been a great machine though!

I've got 213,906.4 on the '83 and 285,000 something on the Taco.
I used to have a '93 4WD Truck with a 22R-E that ran great up to 272,000, when I, like an idiot, ran it for too long with low oil and baked it. The block got a crack in it somewhere around one of the coolant ways, and I ended up with coolant in my crankcase. Then, the head got really really hot from insufficient coolant flow, and I blew my head gasket. It's really a shame that I ran that poor little truck into the ground like that. Back then, I was much younger and tended to act like a moron in every area of my life. Now that I am older and wiser (somewhat anyway) I tend to use much better maintenance practices than I did back then. I don't foresee anything like this happening again - especially since I have a first gen with an actual oil pressure gauge that I eyeball (quick glance-wise) almost constantly while driving. Love that little gauge. Cool stuff.
By the way, SUPER nice truck, Sunshine McB!! Props to you for that one.
