2018 Highlander XLE will not lock. AT ALL. It isn't the key fob, the locks on the door don't work. Strangely the metal key doesn't turn inside the key hole. Instead a red image of a car with a lock error blinks in the clock screen. The interior lights also go on and off. I'm disconnecting the battery when the car is sitting... to keep it from draining. I checked the fuses and they're all ok.

Weird indeed, I searched the web and can’t find much, I found one that said it was the relay but it wasn’t saying anything about the interior lights coming on.

Well I have a 91 pickup so I’m far from any ideas but maybe someone else will chime in. I know it sounds dumb but what does your manual say about that red lock symbol?

I know my Subaru won’t let me lock it if the doors are open, possible one of your latches is reading open but not, I don’t know just throwing ideas out there…..
