I have an 88 Toyota pickup 22r, weber carb that hesitates while accelerating. The battery charge meter also jumps and the headlights flicker while the hesitation is occurring. I figure it must be some kind of grounding issue but don't know where to start looking or how to fix. Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated thank you.

 

Charge meter jumps up or down? Monitor B wire voltage when giving it gas (See my sig for location of test points), like you would do to accelerate? Monitor R voltage remains 12V when giving it gas? Check alternator connections?

 

The charge meter jump down, and makes a clicking noise. Also the truck seems to run better with the lights turned on.
