gray vertigo backseat? 85 4runner

alright guys the 4runner me and my dad plan on picking up this weekend has the vertigo "sr5" seat pattern, the prob is the PO threw the front sr5 vertigos away due to be trashed, so whats a backseat worth by its self? ive heard its a very rare optinion, id rather sell it to recoup fund and give it to someone who needs it for there restore, any ideas? search and google yeilded nothing

I would not expect to receive a lot...if that is what you’re after. It is after all, a 27 year old seat that has seen better days.

I remember reading some post from a guy that claims they're worth a small fortune, however it was all hearsay and nothing factual. I think he was kind of blowing his own horn to justify a purchase.

Snobdds is right. The idea that they are rare was started on a recent thread. I'm probably one of the few here who ever bought a 1st gen new. They were common in the 84 and 85 4Runners IIRC. I dislike them but I appreciate that some people like them because they look 80's. I think the fabric has a cheap texture. I didn't get a 4Runner until 1988 and those seats weren't offered.

Sorry I actually have nothing worthwhile to contribute. I'm just being a YT troll...

I've seen quite a few on here lately...I don't think they're as uncommon as some people think.

I was going to encourage a look at the original brochures at www.toyotareference.com . I'm glad I've looked at them over the years because now you have to pay $5.00 through Paypal to see them!! I seem to recall him on here getting donations of brochures so now he charges to see them. Oh well at least you can still see the paint codes for free. Anyway *I think* the vertigo seats were the SR5 seats for 84-85. I'm not sure about interim years but they were gone by 88-89. Another 80's feature is the grid pattern on the SR5 gauges for 84-86. The SR5 gauges for 87-89 have a normal background.
