getting a new title

Ok...I'm in some trouble.

My mother passed away and left me her car.
I'm the executor of her estate so thats not a problem.

But no one can find the title of the car and the resgestration
expired almost 7 months ago.

I live in Fl but I just moved from NJ and it has the plates
in that same state.

It just got towed away and I got 5 days to get it back.
How do I get a duplicate title of the car that I own (through
the estate) form NJ if in FL in another 5 days?

I have all the paper work in the world but not the title

what i'd do is call the NJ dmv and tell them you lost the title. Then fill out the paperwork to get a new one (you may have to send a death certificate for your mother), and then show the yard where the car is being kept a copy of the submitted form. It Should work.

well in OR i think theres a 3-6 week waiting period. But you should be able to do the process by phone/fax. Like I said get a copy of the submitted form, they should take that.
