which fuel for smog check?
I have to get a smog check soon. I was wondering if I'd be better off using premium gas for the check? Also, should I have it done on a full tank or closer to empty?

my theory: just use regular gas, just make sure the engine is very warmed up, not just warmed up, but like driven around for a while. Seafoam is good for helping clear up emissions too. Next time you fill up, dump a can of seafoam in the tank. and run it through.

A few tips to passing smog tests:
Use a gas with an ethenol blend. In theory they burn cleaner.
run a can of seafoam through your gas tank and intake before hand.
Pump up your rear tires to 40psi
Drive the truck around for at least 20 mins before the test.
When im in the lineup to get mine done, I will usually sit with my rpms around 2000 to get everything nice and hot.

I'm still a bit uneasy with the seafoam idea, because of the mixed results i've read on here. Maybe I'll try it if it doesn't pass the first time. The increased tire pressure is a good idea.

depends if your an optimist or a pessimist...
use the same octane youve been using...i usually just fill up w/chevron and go in when its ~1/2 tank (either full or empty-your call
)
to warm it up fully, a couple of full throttle runs is also beneficial
