Fuel Injector Cleaner
What fuel injector cleaner do you use to clean your injectors and do you feel that it does a good job? I have tried some and have noticed no improvements after using them.

I have used every kind in various vehicles, Chevron, STP, Gumout, etc. Never noticed a difference.
I figure it this way, if your gas mileage isnt bad, and you dont notice a difference, you just poured x dollars down your fuel tank.
Over on the Maxima boards, a couple guys figured out that too much use of this stuff (over 3 bottles a year) will eat the o-ring on the injectors, causing injector failure.

Wow, I never would have thought of that. Good to know.

I use Redline S2, its about $6 delivered to my door. Gas mileage in my high mileage 2nd generation went up considerably after using it.
I purchased two bottles; used all of the first one for initial cleanup, then periodically use a portion of the 2nd bottle for maintaining.

I purchased mine straight from them. I had called to find a distributor and the lady took my order then. Here's the website: http://www.redlineoil.com

I tried the Chevron stuff recently and noticed a minimal improvement, though at 85k miles I kinda expected more to be honest. I'm going to try the redline stuff later after I change the fuel filter out.
OOC, and this may be because I don't know how to interpret those readings, why should you change your oil within 500 miles of using injector cleaner as someone suggested? Does it get past the rings into the oil or what?

I tried the Chevron/Techron stuff from wally world. It was strange, I don't normally go through a lot of gas, so the fill of fuel sat in the tank maybe a week or two. But half-way through the tank, I was sitting at a red light, and my CEL went on.
I rode around with the CEL on for a day or two. I was on my way to Advance to get it read, and I gunned it (WOT) on the on-ramp/merge lane on the highway, and off went the CEL.
Think the Chevron hit something loose, triggering the CEL, and then "gunning it" burned whatever foreign substance was there, up? lol.
That's my theory anyways....I'm tempted to take it there anyways and see if the code is still stored...but would feel like a dumbass since it's going on like a month now with the CEL off.
But I've used nearly everything in the vehicle, Seafoam, Warren Autoguard, B-12 CHEMTOOL, etc. Not all at once.....but like 5000mi. between each other. I'd just buy what was at hand. Hell, the warren injector cleaner was only 1$ at dollar tree, bottle said good for 5k (which don't totally understand that, cause after a couple tanks of gas, the cleaner is gone.....lol- so I wonder how they base that time frame).
