I could see removing it for more Ifs flex but my truck is a DD as well as a trail rig so my bars stay put lol. Besides, with more flex you gotta worry more about your CV's.

I've wheeled her pretty hard at times and never got stuck (in any place I couldn't eventually get myself out of and enjoy decent high speed turn handling so I guess I have the best of both worlds... Don't see any point in trying to change a perfectly running truck (on and offroad). But if it was strictly a serious trail rig I might consider it.

you would be surprised how much it doesn't change on the road.. you would have to do something on purpose to notice..

Well I can't testify personally about ripping one out but there seems to be a "body roll" theme on this thread about making tight turns.

If your doing more wheelin than highway driving take it off for sure. I have not had sway bars on may 83 shortbed for over 15 years with no front sway bar. I'm lifted with 35's and would drive it regularly to our club outtings. Just be a little more carefull while driving on the highway. Over the winter I remove the leaf springs and have a link bar set up with Fox air shocks. Since I no longer have any spring I did add sway bars to help stablize the rig while driving it on the highway to the trail heads. My truck is now a trailer queen with the new set up

It is mainly straight but dumb drivers have a tendency to try to merge into your lane while not paying attention or cut you off and at 70+mph you don't want any body roll if you suddenly have to yank the wheel!

Yeah it gets a little squirrely when you have to change lanes really going freeway speeds.

Just leave plenty of room to stop or slow down (which we should all do anyway) and know the it will feel as little different.

Yeah, and I love those a-holes that come off the on ramp flying and try to shoot across five lanes at once.

Just remember... It's not always your fault if you get killed on the interstate =)

nope, in fact you wont even have to worry about it.... haha..
but your family will...

even still, its not THAT bad. like I said, you would have to try to make a hard enough turn for it to effect you enough to roll... in that case you would probably roll even if you didn't take it off...

lol i've had a dude in a buick regal fly across 5 lanes while merging on the freeway, except he hit my fender while trying to go into the 2nd lane... funny thing is, insurance companies settled it as 50/50 even after the dude tried running from me.

When I said "Highway" I ment paved roads. When your driving on the paved roads up in the hills to get to your favorite wheelin spot be careful. Don't drive your rig without sway bars like it is a sports car! If you see a sign that says 15 mile per hour curve ahead you make sure you take turn at 15mph or less. Otherwise your rig will get the "leanie-looooos" and could get real squirrely. Just drive safely and don't do something stupid and you will be fine without the sway bars

It sounds like your pretty new to wheelin. My club Esprit DeFour is putting on a "Safety Clinc" (How To Clinic) at Hollister Hills this weekend. If you came and took this course you would learn alot! FREE Camping Friday & Saturday night to all students of the class. We have been doing these clinics at Hollister for over 20 years. Look us up at www.4x4safety.org or www.espritdefour.com
