Flood damage
'96 Tacoma 2.7 5sp
Hey. I finally upgraded from Saab and this is my first Yota. A month after buying it I find out it had water damage from a flood and had to replace the instrument cluster. I'm not too worried because the flood was a few years ago, thus it's been through a few winters in this town which get as cold as -50F, and I've seen the Top Gear 'How to kill a Toyota.' Is there anything I can do/look for/watch out for/replace to keep it in shape? What are other experiences with flooded Yota trucks? Thanks for any advice, sorry if this has already been answered elsewhere, sorry if it's just not an issue with Toyota trucks.

There are floods and then there are FLOODS!
Could be this was just in one like going for a swim and not the type where it sat underwater for days. Fresh or Saltwater??
Saltwater you might have corrosion in electrical connectors for the rest of the trucks life.
other than all the fluids and if you don`t mind the fish smell which you most likely got used too.
i think it is a good idea to change the fluids in a vehicle that comes into my hands only because I have no idea if and when it was done.
I have talked to people that had no idea the fluids in the drive train needed changing
