fire extinguisher in car year round?

i'm in the process of putting a 1st gen roll bar in my 3rd gen 4runner and now that i'll have somewhere to strap things down and mount things to, i'm thinking of having some added safety (or SHTF) stuff in there too. one of those things is a fire extinguisher. i've found some at the hardware store, and i know this sounds vain but, they look frumpy and out of place. so, i checked good old ebay and they have them in various colors that are suitable for automotive applications. see HERE.
i'm thinking of getting one, but my question to anyone that might know the answer to this is... is this "safe" to have in the car year round? i live in iowa and it gets hot and humid in the summer and yesterday it was -23. does heat, humidity, cold affect the powder in these or would the extreme temps affect the pressure on the extinguisher and cause it to leak or even go off? i'd hate to be driving and have the thing burst, or even come out to the 4runner after work or in the morning and find that i have sodium powder all over my interior.

any insight on storing one of these in a car that sees extreme temps +/- year round?

thanks

Here in Az it gets really hot and I've never had a problem, or have heard of anybody else having any problems. Why do they make it seem all cheap, but then S&H is $16.50?

I've had mine mounted on my '85 roll bar for the last 11 years w/ no problems either, even in temps of nearly 120F in the desert:

We also keep them in our work vehicles year round, -40C is nothing out of the ordinary here

I have two in the rig year round.
It has been in the low 20s all week, and it was a hot summer.
No problemo.

great, thanks everyone, really puts me at ease now. yeah, the price seems really cheap until you see the shipping, but my local hardware store was selling their frumpy looking extinguishers for around $25, so if i can get a black one to go with the roll bar for $20 i'll pay for it. plus, i didn't want a red or any other colored one that might stick out and have some kids break in just to steal it, not saying they won't break in anyway (kids these days!).

thanks again everyone! you also made me feel better since some of you go -40 C and others 120 F for temps, WOW!
