You can get a ujoint for $25 at any auto parts store. Take of the shaft, and go to Midas or pep boys. They both have done it for me for $20 labor.

I attempted to get the u-joints off myself. couldn't do it, they are pressed in too good. the shop i took them to had a heck of a time! Mine cost me $35 for the u-joint and $10 labor. Just take the shaft out and bring it in, the shaft is VERY EASY to get off. you will save yourself a good amount of $

i've only ever been defeated by one u-joint. that was on a dodge 2500, and i ended up having to cut it out with oxy/set torch. cut it in half, and out it comes!

otherwise, get a sturdy bench, vice, large hammer, and some sockets and pound it out!

I HATE REPLACING U-JOINTS!!!
i would rather do an engine swap over a single u-joint.
(in the middle of replacing the u-joints on the front shaft, it sucks)

spend 22 dollars (source is 4wheel supply) and do it your self but if you want a shop to do it the price seems about average
