finding a new home
HI all, I am a new member here and I'm not quite sure where I should start, so I will start here. Moderators feel free to move to the correct section if there is one. Any way I would like a section for those few of us that own 2000+ Hiluxs in the Americas to exchange ideas and talk about our unique trucks. Probably wont be many of us but any questions about these trucks I will answer the best I can. I love my Hilux, it fits perfectly in my rural environment where almost half of my driving is on dirt roads. I have added an Dastek chip, front mounted winch and new 215/85-16 tires as the factory tires was chipped to the core by the gravel road that I live on after 20K miles. I get about 26 MPG on mountain roads which is about 10+ mpg better then my 94 F150. It is a 1 ton rated truck, I have already hauled 2200 pounds of landscape brick in the back. The engine didn't even notice but steering was a little squirrely. Torque is even between about 1500 and 3000 rpm. On the highway, I usually never have to shift out of 5th gear.

I bought it off a Texas dealer that had it listed on Ebay for 22500. It had less then 20k miles on the odometer. No problem getting it titled. Insurance also no problem.
