Engine swaps

I have a 3.0 liter V-6 with a blown head gasket . It is a 1992 Toy with 4” lift I use it for hunting and fishing but this is not the first time I have been in the engine. Broke a rod bolt and had to rebuild. The truck has about 250000 miles on it. Before I put any more money in it I am thinking about swapping to a different motor but I want to make it easy to bolt up to my automatic transmission Any suggestions? 3.4 or 3.4turbo. Or just stay with 3.0?

The 3.4 is a pretty common swap .

Main issues are the electrical merging the two wiring harnesses .

Swapping the battery and air filter housing

The exhaust system

We do have a nice 3.4 swap section to read through

Many choices. My favorite is the dirt cheap 5.0L SBC with a carb, TH350 with and adapter plate to the chain drive or use a chevy / Jeep xfer case. Dirt simple, one wire for the distributor and two for the alternator.
