engine swaps

can anyone give me some help. I am putting a small block chevy into my pickup - no problem there. however then i am left with a freshly rubuilt 3vze.
so my question is this can i put a v6 in place of the 4cylinder? I know the wiring harness and ecm would have to be changed. the v6 is a 5spd and the 4 is automatic. would i need a new ecm to run an auto tranny on v6. the wiring harness does it only need to be changed from the ecm to the engine? I don't know maybe im better off rebuilding the 4cylinder. If anyone can help me out that would be fantastic.

I'd sell the 3VZE. From what I hear, the motor mount purches would need to be moved to put a V6 in place of the 4 cyl, but it can be done and ORS makes everything to do it: http://www.offroadsolutions.com/ Their stuff is mainly for swapping a 5VZ in place of the 22re but the same would apply to swapping in a 3VZ. Its just that most people don't want to swap IN a 3VZ. Most people want to swap OUT a 3VZ, not swap one in. Especially with gas prices so high now, the 22re would be my choice between the 2.

Also like you suggest the ECU and engine harness would need to be from the donor truck.

Here's the engine swap section:

Good point, I always forget about that because the 4 cyl transfer cases were so good.

That truck had a 4cyl in it. We had to cut the mounts out of the way , cut the ones out of the 4runner the V6 was in, weld those in, sell the 5spd I had, buy a R151F, buy a new driveshaft, it was alot of work. Pays to have a donor truck sitting right beside it..and take pictures, I think I took about 50 pics of the engine in the runner before I took it out.
