E3 spark plugs

I just watched horsepower tv on spike and they did a side by side dyno and emissions test with e3 spark plugs and and some competitor plugs. Apparently there was a actual significant gain in hp and emissions reduction. And in their words, better emissions means better mpg. anyone see this or has anyone switched or thinking about switching to those e3 plugs. Im due for sparkplugs here soon so im thinking about it.

I saw it too, but can't justify paying for them. NGK Copper V-Powers for me for life. and remember theres only 4cyl on ours or 6 depending. so the gains are not going to be as much as you would see from a fully built V8. Also airflow/fuel supply is higher which plays a factor too in plug efficiency.

Unless I see a dyno with a 22r or 3.slow, 3.4 toy motor, I'll stick with my NGK's.

I searched a little for it, could have swore there was a thread on these. Im running them right now. No issues, nice and smooth. The main thing I like about them is the 5 year warranty from Kragen/O'Reilly.

What did they call "significant"? Engine dyno, or chassis?

I have yet to be convinced that any dyno run will read within 5 HP ... although there are a lot less variables on an engine dyno than a chassis dyno.

If you can afford them then go for it. Let us know how it goes, I mean atleast your only running a 4banger and you dont need to buy 6 or 8 of them =)

Let me tell you camo, I have been using E3's in everything for the last year and a half. My truck had a decent misfire, guess what? The plugs were two month old G-Power's. Dropped in some e3's, no more misfire. My 94 4Runner, ran E3's, my old 89 Chevy with the 350, TBI. Ran E3's in the old oil burning motor, transfered them over to the BRAND NEW 350, never ever had an issue. Bottom line, these plugs are wicked. You will be more than happy.

I put the new e3s in my 99 4Runner with the 5VZ-FE v6 engine and I'm really happy with it's performance!! I have noticed a slight bump in horsepower but I can't say that my mpgs are way better or anything. The engine, though it always ran well, seems to be running like a dream! If you go with a set of them, though, I'm pretty sure that you'll be a happy customer!
