Driveshaft Spacer

I need a driveshaft spacer. I looked everywhere, but couldn't find anyone who is making them for the latest 120 platform (FJ, 4th Gen. 4Runner, latest Tacoma, LC Prado). There are plenty of them for other vehicles, but nothing for Toyota.
Could someone suggest the place to get one?

Here are some pictures of what I'm looking for:

I have to ask the related question... what have you done that you need to space your driveshaft? I have 9" of lift or so and the stock shaft still works fine.

Well... 4.5" on my rear and I'm out of extension when I'm jacking up the truck on the hoist. I have to put a tow strap around the rear axle when working under the truck to prevent the axle going full down and popping out the driveshaft.

Hmm... there must be some differences between your '05 Runner and my '01 Tacoma in that area. I am at close to 9" of lift and have lots of droop and mine stays hooked up over the full range. I see LOTS of spline, but it stays hooked up. Odd.

Have you thought about having your shaft reworked to suit? It will cost a few more bucks, but it's really the "right" way to do it...

Re-do the driveshaft will cost at least $500-600 and another thing is that I don't know what mod I'll do in a year or so, so spacer is better and cheaper choice to do it. At the finish point when you've done the final stage you can work-out the driveshaft itself, it's the to do it.

Well best of luck then, it sounds like you have your heart set on a spacer.

I had the same operation done on a driveshaft for well under $200 US a few months back, so you must have something pretty special in mind.

I've never seen one for Toyota's either. Try www.aimind.com maybe, email them?

The amount of lift is irevelant to the length of a driveshaft if you don't wheel your rig. I have about 7 inches of lift and I can flex my axle enough that the slip comes out. I found this article because I'm searching for spacers for my Yota.

Might have something in the works for this in the near future. What sort of range of thicknesses would you find useful? Was thinking of a couple of spacers in the range of 1/2" or 3/4", 1" and 1.5". Cost would be about $75-80 w/ longer hardware.

That's a good choice. I had to make my by custom shop. It's 1" and it cost me $150.

$150.00 for one spacer? Screw that! I'm going down to the metal shop to get a foot each of 2.0" and 2.5" and build my own drivshaft.

I just bought some for my Samurai for $25.00 each.

I was thinking a guy could cut the bolt holes out of the Samurai spacer. I held a Toy flange to a Sammi flange and they are about an 8th off on each hole.

I had my front lengthened and rear shortened for $200 when I put the crawler in...

Oh - and too short and coming apart is a HELLUVA lot better than too long and destroying your tcase or diff.

that is a pretty decent deal...curious at what RPM did they balance your shafts to? Seems like a lot of the shops around here only go up to about 500 rpms...will be doing the shortening/lengthening deal next month or so...

Maybe you can get a local shop to machine a spacer for you?

May have a spacer available first part of next year. Just getting ready to send out the flanges and dimensions to the machine shop. Probably be a little after the holidays to get something fabricated.
