Dodge question

oookk..kinda scared to ask here but i will anyway

anybody ever heard of anybody doing a manual hub swap on a 94-2002 dodge 1/2 ton...seems like the u-joints on the front axle wear out kinda fast..thats where the thought of manual hubs came into my head...

not sure if it can be done or not..or what all is involved..but if i can find out on here if it can be done or not..then i would go into deeper research myself..but so far i have not found anything..thanks for the help guys!

Sure...you can do anything with a D44.

4wheel parts sells a "conversion kit" to put manual hubs on a D44

Now, weather or not you need the "conversion kit" or just a set of hubs, I don't know, I'd have to see what kind of hubs are installed on the truck.

Ahhh wait, those have the "unit bearings" dont they?

If so, you will probably have to replace the spindles and knuckles..

Just go to a junkyard and get some from any 70's or 80's Chev 1500 or 2500.

Hell...just get the entire axle and swap it in. They go for $150-$250 here locally.
