Diesel for the Taco

Any truth to the rumors that there will be a diesel coming to the states soon for the Tacoma?

That's a bummer. A 4 cylinder Diesel 4X4 Taco would fly off the shelves IMO

You can't convert the engine. You could potentially convert the truck, though. The simple answer is because gas engines aren't strong enough.

I would say your best bet would be to try to find a shop that will do a diesel swap for you. However, this will probably be really expensive to say the least.

The avg. DIY diesel conversion costs around $8000. If you pay someone to do it for you, your looking to pend a mim. of $15,000.
