confused on replacing the steering stabilizer

I went to autozone and asked for a 87 toyota steering stabilizer, i bought the one that is for the OE brackets, when i got it home i took off the skid plate and noticed it was some what different, so im confused where do i get the proper replacement and or how do i make this one work, one end is too wide to fit in the frame bracket. the other is different, the original has a tie rod type end on it and the one i have looks like a reg shock end but with some nifty looking bolts if u need pics of the aftermarket let me know.

Why replace stock with stock...? I'd return it and go get an OME, rancho or pro comp one. You'll get better results.

Not trying to razz ya..... MY OMEmu stabilizer ROCKS! lol... BUT, if you wanna use that one, it's probably just a "Pop out your new bushing and install the ORIGINAL back in there". I had to do that with the OMEmu shocks in the rear of my rig as well(but that was due to them having shipped me 70016 shocks instead of 70061~! lol... They sent me 96-01 Shocks! lol). Do you still have the original bushing? Is it in tact? Is it possible that they put the bushings in, criss crossed?(in the wrong holes?)

PS> To remove it, place it over a larger socket for OD, then stick a socket that fits the ID from the top and rap it out with a mallet. IT WILL come out, hopefully in one piece..... And besides, you're not going to re-use anything else on the original one, right? I dug my old shocks out of the trash and kept all the bushings/washers, and I've since found a use for them.

no im not going to reuse anything on them. the metal on the shock hits the out side of the bracket so it wont work.. the moog shock has a smaller one.. and whats all this OMEmu talk about send me a link im sick of all you turkeys bragging about it!!

I have also been thinking of getting a OME myself, wondering if I need it though? How can I tell if mine is shot? My steering feels fine but could it be better with an aftermarket? Sorry to kinda Hijack here figured I would ask in this thread. Anyway you got a part number for that OME chef??

Yep, they are.... I just weighed out the study I'd done and feedback from people with many different ones... And I figured I'd go OMEmu all the way around.

I'm not sure if I have the Part Number anymore... BUT, if you go to www.Rockyroadoutfitters.com , or maybe it's www.rro.com (?), then put in your year and go to "cart", ...it will tell you the part number, but not before that. I posted it in my build thread for CERTAIN! But good luck finding it! lol. Sorry man... If I see the box out there, I'll jot it down for ya.

PERSISTENCE AND A BFH! hehehehe. JK, ... SUP DZ!?!? LOVE your beast... It's growing more and more ILL(in the most complimentary way, lol) by the day!

No, actually, are you talking about the right side? It has to be forced in(I'm assuming that's not what you meant, as you'd know that, lol).... As you go to 58# or 80# or whatever it is, it seats(tapered end on the right).
I'd have to look that up again, I'm kinda foggy on it, lol. I had more trouble getting it to seat than on the side with the bolt and nut(eyelets/fixed side)

These are the WRONG SHOCKS that ARB-USA sent me.......They couldn't believe I got them to fit! hahahaha... Luckily, I got them out before they were damaged and a buddy got em! ......
