Clutch feel?

Ok I have been driving my new 08 Civic Si recently, and when I drove my truck for the first time in a little while, the clutch just really feels like crap. I know im comparing an old truck with a brand new car, but the clutch only has about 10k miles on it, and the same with the throwout bearing, clutch slave and master cylinders (I rebuilt them). The clutch is a Centerforce Dual Friction, with a centerforce throwout bearing. I rewelded and reinforced the clutch bracket recently as well. What im looking for here is, how does the clutch get that "springy" feeling to it? It isnt even so much how stiff the clutch is, but just the feel overall.

The terms "feels like crap" and "springy feeling" are pretty objective.

I know the Centerforce Clutches are much stiffer in feel than OEM. Harder pedal push and more full on/ full off.. harder to modulate smoothly.

If you are looking for a softer pedal feel might want to go OEM next time. They last forever, have great holding power and might give you what you are missing from the Honda.

Well... Its really hard to explain, but you should be able to kinda feel where the clutch's "friction zone" is, where the clutch is engaging, and it should have a different feel to it when it is at that point, almost like a springy feel. Well my trucks clutch, you cant feel any difference through the entire pedal travel. I can feel where the clutch is engaging just by how the vehicle is reacting, that isn't the problem. Anybody who has driven a new vehicle and an old vehicle that is manual i'm sure knows what i'm talking about. I am just trying to figure out what is wearing out that gives it this characteristic, so I can make it feel like new again.

The centerforce clutches are designed to have less pedal pressure then stock to make it easier on you. Though IMHO if the centerforce clutch feels like crap its most likely due to the fact that it is crap. I tried to run a dual friction on mine and the POS required so much pressure from the stock slave cylinder that it would not disenguage even with a new slave cyl and some serious pressure. I tested it on a press and the thing required more pounds of pressure to disenguage to a .01 airgap then the stock hydraulic was even rated for. sent it back to centerforce and they told me it was completley normal LOL
