If you're on Hotmail or Yahoo, check your Junk/Bulk mail. Bud ships FedEx, and they send you an email that apparently is automatically blocked by those two.

FedEx says my front skid should be here tomorrow, and the tranny xmember Friday. He still has to make the xmember skid. (Didn't realize they were two pieces)

After a couple weeks though, i didn't notice the vibrations nearly as much as before. In fact they almost disapeared completely. This can vary between individual vehicles of the same generation though. IIRC, I was told that lifting the drivetrain is only a problem on 2nd gen 4runners (and possibly trucks but IDK)...ask both 4cralwer and Bud for more details.
I was debating on getting 1/2" motor mount spacers from 4crawler but ended not needing them. If you have a 1" BL and want the maximum amount of ground clearance, then get a full 1" DT lift crossmember and 3/4" motor mount spacers. If you don't want to mess with MM spacers, then consider just a 1/2" lift crossmember. OR you can get a 3/4" lift crossmember (like i had) and IF you have too much vibration, you can always put "spacers" between the frame mount and the crossmember to lower it down.

Either way, Buds single T-case crossmember for a 88-95 rig will give you better protection and way more ground clearance with or without a built-in DT lift.

Heres some pics i took while comparing my stock x-member vrs. BudBuilt's...
https://www.yotatech.com/forums/f180/bud-built-crossmember-3-0-5spd-3-4-drivetrain-lift-pics-78653/

BTW, you could also PM 'shiftless89'. He bought my crossmember and i'm curious myself what his results/thoughts are after installing it on his '89 with a 1" BL.
update on dt lift. I had no vibration issues at all. I assume Rockets issues stem from the driveshaft slip yoke riding in a different place and breaking in, that would explain the vibration going away. And the 3/4 lift works awsome on my 1st gen with a 1"body lift. I'd love to get the new skid plate offering, but I have to buy the wife a new(er) car so, I'm tapped out right now! Let me tell you the quality of bud's product is bar-none the best.
Mike

Hey, thanks again to you and Rocket. FYI turning over my STI to my wife has yielded great results in my ability to buy stuff for the 16 year old truck I'm now forced to drive.

for that taco you're working on? little angle piece?

here's some taco pics from earlier in this thread:

check out the round tube in the far left of this pic. that's the rear mount support. i don't think it's included in the $450 price for both skids, but i think that's what is referenced just below that price for the skid, bellyplate, and rear crossmember:

here's a good pic showing the mounting points. notice that there's no internal bracing, but 3/16" is HEAVY plate. it should hold up nicely...

here's a pic of that crossmember to support the rear of the bellypan:

I see it on that top picture, but it's too small. I have a call into Bud, but if anyone knows.....

So did this piece come with the 4Runner skids? Extra part bolted to the back on the inside.

extra part on the back-inside? huh??? you see it in that pic? i'm lost here.

the front skid is one piece. you can see that in the 2nd pic above.

the belly is one piece, also in the second pic.

the belly bolts to the skid as shown. there isn't a small, angled piece that bolts to the skid that i know of...

Steve, you must be refering to the belly pan for a Taco. They are different since they don't have the stock rear crossmember. It must be a part that helps it attach to the crossmember that Bud supplies with the taco belly skid. It doesn't seem that anyone on this thread has installed one on a Taco yet. I would give Bud a call or try TTORA.

steve, are you referring to the tacoma rear crossmember? on the far left of this pic where you see the black tubing on the frame coming down to the back of the belly pan?

that's the tacoma rear crossmember. this thing:

the runner's have a crossmember behind the XF case that the belly pan attaches to. the taco's don't, so Bud makes these as a substitute. you bolt it to the frame and then bolt the rear of the belly pan to the crossmember...

I just received my front skid and belly pan for the taco today. Bud is bending up new cross members for the Tacoma’s so I have to wait for that. I have to say one thing I also feel sorry for the delivery guys coming to my work the past few days; 85lbs sliders and a little over 100lbs worth of skid plates.
