best rust paint?

i painted my driveshaft with tremclad (rustoleum) a while ago, and the rust is already showing through. study break is next week and i was thinking of flapwheeling the frame and painting it, but not if it's just gonna rust through right away.

what's the best paint to use that'll stop rust from forming underneath? POR15 is good, probably, but too expensive for me. does that rubberized undercoat stuff stop rust well?

thanks for any tips.

If you remove all the existing rust them rustoleum works well. Did you remove the exisitng rust before you painted it? I like the bedliner stuff, but once again it takes a lot of prep work and is about as expensive as POR15.

I have some stuff that i got from K-Mart i forgot the name it was like Kryola or something i dunno, but it said it converts the rust chemically and paints over it so it doesn't grow and new rust doesn't come in...i'll try and find the name

yeah, i flap disced the whole shaft to bare metal. i'm thinking that my rustoleum problem might be from using a spray bomb, and only doing two or three coats. that's a pretty thin layer of paint. i may have had better results from brushing it on.

i still have black rustoleum lying around so i'll give that a shot on my frame - if it rusts, i'll try something else

i used some of that on my door. i wirewheeled the real loose rust off, then hit it with the rust converter spray (from rust check), then painted over it with some black spray bomb (no idea what brand). that was in the fall and there's already rust coming through.
