Best deal ever at the junk yard today!!!
I just want to start off by saying im flippin Stoked about this. i was complaining about how i needed new tires to my girl last night and today look what i got!
so needed to get a headlight for my truck a rock decided to wiz through the glass so i went to the first yard and the one runner the had happend to have the same headlight broken so i was about to give up and go home because the next yard was like 25 miles away but i decided to go anyway and i walked in the fron and saw a bfg at leaning agains the a truck in the front row i was like man thats a new tire, i wonder why its there and walk past it and in the second row i see a f150 with the other three still on it but unbolted so i verry quickly grabbed them up and paid for them. total of 68$ for 4 31x10.5r15 bfg ATs on steal ford rims.
so i went back in to find a runner to grab a headlight off of and i saw a first gen and was like man i want one of those and i look in the window and i see the altimeter still sitting there and my heart stopped agian. i was like no way to flippin sweet finds in one day in the same yard. so yea i got a altimeter for 6$
does anybody know the best place to mount it in a second gen. i was thinking right in front of the passenger seat basically where it is in the pic

Sweet finds... factory location for the alt. is the left side of the depression more or less where you have it... when you remove the dash you might see some crosshair markings for the mounting holes and there may also be a plug for the harness in the upper centre area possibly behind the heater controls as well.
one member modified his and mounted it in the dash below the radio... there is a thread on it here from a few years ago... try a search on altimeters here to find it and some related threads on installing it in the stock location.

Wow , you lucked out. I love junk yards. Through work i get to dif junk yards in NE at least 2 times a week. Sr5 grey cloth buckets 25 bucks, 85 front axle 100 bucks, to name a few. i have my eye on 4.88 F&R difs in a v6 / 4 runner auto, you think 150 each is too much?

My 4runner came with those tires when I bought it... 32x11.50x15... They sucked big time. They were ok on the road i guess, and looked nice (they had about 13/32 tread left on them... lots left. HOWEVER when I took my first venture off road, they were the next thing to go away off my truck. In the sand they were decent. But the second I hit ANYTHING moist, they just caked up and turned into slicks. The Kumho A/T tires I took off my old truck are WAY better than these pieces of crap... and cost half what the BFG does. I just don't understand why the BFG's are so popular...
