Another Amazing use for WD40!!!
#1
I thought I'd share something I discovered last year when cleaning my interior on my Runner. If you have grease spots or even gum on your upholstry, carpets, seats, doors panels, etc...., spray a small amount of WD40 on the spot, do a couple of passes with a Scrub Brush, and the spot disapears! If you want afterwards, use a little laundry detergent and water, scrub again, and rinse.....It's like NEW!!! I've hosed the carpets down with water, and then vaccumed it with a shop vac, but it's not necessary. If you do use the hose, make sure it's a really hot day and run the heater for a while and then leave the windows open for a while until it's all dry. I've done the hose method for the past 3 years, no issues with mildew, just make sure you air that interior out well!

good info, if it works. while i was transporting my 4.88 differentials to my house and nut job decided to pull out in front of me and it slid off the cardboard it was on and put a 8" gear oil stain on my back seat... /sigh.

Yeah, it does a pretty good job of getting gum out of hair, too (if you have kids that are school-aged).
Vehicle doors are often lined with a sheet of plastic between the metal and the interior panel. The glue that holds this plastic is rather nasty to try to clean off with conventional methods, but WD-40 cuts through it quite nicely.

My dad used WD40 to get gum out of my brothers hair when we were little back 30 years ago so I've been aware of it's amazing uses for a while. I don't think I've ever been without a can since.
