aftermarket parts opinions
Any experience with aftermarket parts or opinions needed. The only choices I have are Beck Arnley, Wells, GP Sorenson and Bosch. Either ignition parts or mechanical, like idler arm, ptman arm. Tight budget and distance prohibits Toyota parts. Other brand suggestions welcome also.

aftermarket parts are ok... but make sure that they are identical frist...i got an aftermarket radiator for my 3.0L and the neck was in a different spot... i made it work though and it's been working ever since...so like i said you can go after market but make sure they are identical.

I think the general consensus is to avoid Bosch for 4Runners. That includes plugs, O2 sensors, etc. NGK or Nippon-Denso are what you want. The standard NGK plugs are even less expensive than the Bosch.

bosch stuff may be fine in a volkswagen, but i'm not a big fan of their products in my toyotas. their plugs are more expensive and foul quick like champion plugs. for the most part i stick to NGK/denso

You may be surprised at what they can do for you, and you can have the parts shipped no matter how far away you are.

Great tips everyone
Thanks for all the suggestions, Strap22, I may be emailing you soon. Had to buy a GP Sorenson cap in a hurry. The old one was cracked where someone tightened it down with part of the dust gasket missing. Replacing those helped some. I bought same brand rotor, but see something very strange. End of rotor is white, like paint. How do you get connectivity through paint? Wondering if I should scrape off, continuity meter shows no connectivity on painted end. Maybe they do that to protect the brass or copper from turning. No instructions regarding scraping off paint. Simple matter to try as is, but I bet it needs scraped off. Don't have time to work on it today, maybe tomorrow. I checked, its paint not grease.
