6th Generation 4Runner. Is the 4Runner Dead in 2016?

A Friend of mine showed me an article stating that the 6th Generation 4Runner will be taking the path as the New 2013 Pathfinder. A Low to the ground Uni-body Crossover/Wagon piece of !@#$%. I really hope this is not true.

Put a link up to the article...

I doubt it because there already has a platform for this type of "crossover" and it's called a highlander.

I have not cared for any 4runner since the 3rd gens to be honest. The 4th gen was just barely tolerable with the right mods.

Monocoque isn't the end of the world. Look at the Heep Cherokee. Lots of guys wheel those. Mind you they have a front solid axle still.

I saw it in paper form. It was in Motor Trend's Truck Trend, Nov - Dec 2012 issue, on page # 15. This time I think it's for real, since the pathfinder has gone that route for 2013. Sad, very sad.

You'd think that since the JK Wrangler has been such a success for Jeep, that Toyota would bring back an FJ40 equivalent, and no the FJC doesn't count. I mean a real modernized FJ40!

It has to be better looking because it couldn't get any uglier than it already is. Jesus.

It has been sad to see Toyota succumb to the embarrassing, bad taste, cartoon big mouth look(pioneered by Dodge/RAM in the 1990's).
In architecture it's called "postmodernism", in car styling I call it "cultural senility".

The 4runner died in '86. After that it became a minivan.
