4Runner Rear Axle Question Need Response ASAP
Does anyone know if the ring and pinion are the same in a 2nd gen with 4:56 gears as a 3rd gen with 4:56 gears? Basicly are 2nd gen and 3rd gen rear axles the same?

Yes, in 4Runners the rear axles are the same.
NOTE: the FRONT gears are NOT the same. 2nd gen is low pinion, 3rd is high. The carriers are the same though, so lockers for one will fit the other.
