09 Corolla XRS?

Just wondering what everyone thought of the XRS. I'm moving soon and need something that gets better than 14mpg. Test Drove a XRS and liked it. Curios to know if anyone's herd anything about them good/bad?

- this would be my first new, NEW car I've ever bought so I'm very iffy about it.
Any input would be helpful!

-Tracey

Eh tracey, they dont have the same 1.8L 2zz-ge they used to, theyve got some bigger 2.4L now, but i think they actually get better mileage, but theyre a bit slower than before (the 2zz was the celica/lotus elise motor, more like a high-revving honda vtec motor then a regular toyota motor).
If i was a chick i'd consider buying it i'm thinking acura TL for a commuter...

2.4 ran pretty good... I don't know. I like the TDI Jetta as well. Friend of mine has one. Options are wide open on this one. But the Runner isn't getting the millage to cut 60+ miles a day.

I prefer the larger torquey motor than the high revving one. I was pleased to see Toyota use the larger engine in the new XRS.

I find it interesting when you look at the similar Civic Si. They put that little high revving motor in it and the MPG is the same as my wife's 4cyl Accord.

I bet if they put the new Accord 2.4 in the Civic it would be just as fast if not faster because of the added torque. And the MPG will be at least as good as the Accord which will be an improvement.

But in my opinion, get a motorcycle. More fun, cheaper, faster, better MPG
