Ok so im done with the swap of auto to standard on my 94 toy 4x4, got reverse lights working original and i bypassed the vaccum for the front diff. My question is how many qts of gear oil for just the trans itself not the tcase just the trans? I drained the tranny and over 4qts of gear oil came out and ive been hearing and read up on it that only 2. Some qts for drain and refill. Well i did the drain and refilled it to too of fill plug and it wont go i to any gear. Im thinking of adding a couple more qts just to see if it will shift but before i do that im hoping someone here can give me some ideas before i do this. Keep in mind that it was shifting good before i did the drain n refill. Pls any info would be great. Thanks

Changing the gear oil probably has nothing to do with your issue.

If the gear oil is up to the where it comes out the side level plug the tranny is full.

Look to the clutch hydraulics.

Clutch slave and master are brandnew, i have a centerforce 1 clutch with stock clutch plate. I flushed and blew the lines and its free n clear. Forgot to mention this trans i installed sat for alittke over 2 years.

In your first post you stated that it shifted just fine until you changed the oil.??????

Has it ever run and shifted since you assembled it??

After i installed the trans and everything else it was shifting good and all. What im saying is that after i drained the gear oil alittle over 4 qts came out of trans. So when filling it on the fill side of trans it said 2. Some qts which is weird when alittle over 4qts came out. I did fill it til it started coming out of fill plug, alittle over 2 qts and then it started spilling out. That is why im asking what is the total qts that the Trans take not the tcase just the trans.
