Why Hi Steer?

Hi guys, learning a lot from this site and some of my projects but I don't understand what Hi Steer is or why someone would want to do it?

Sorry for the silly question. I googled first but I still don't understand why people do it.

Thanks!

For one, the cross over steering is a huge improvement over the old push and pull steering systems that the solid axles left the factory with, also with high steer the steering links are above the axle rather than in front of it waiting to get twisted on a rock. There are even some custom setups that go behind the axle but are more spendy.

No, you can't do a hi steer conversion to an IFS truck.

Newbie section for silly questions so try not to be a dick. You too at some point started out learning about automobile mechanics.

Pirate 4x4 is where I would expect a sarcastic post like yours.

Anyway, thanks for the reply James now I understand.

Almost 13000 posts, yes you have done a lot more reading since 2006 where as my join date coincides with my toyota purchase. This is my first truck and my first house with a garage where I can learn.

I also didn't name call. I asked you to try not to be a dick in the newbie section and that sarcastic crap belongs at pirate. If you don't like questions like mine don't come into the noob section. If you do try to be more tolerant.

You obviously decided against my advice with a second jerky reply. Nice bro, you're awesome and a credit to yotatechs reputation........
