Where can I get good Head Gasket?
Does anyone know where i can buy online some good head gasket? I dont want to buy some not good rated ones then have to change them in a couple of years? Well now that Im here I have a question. Ok my truck runs low on coolant everytime I drive it, i have to keep refilling up my radiator, I dont see any white smoke out of the exhaust I do see some like little spits of water coming out though but not alot, ok a mechanic looked at the oil cap and there was white stuff underneath it and said its my head or head gasket, is this true? does any one have like a manual where it shows how to replace this? so im gonna need the whole head set gasket kit. whats a good one I can get? thank you very much its a 1986 toyota pickup 4wd 22re efi

x2 on engnbldr.com, but you'd better make sure it's really the head gasket. A little milky residue on the oil cap is not uncommon, and is a silly way to diagnose a headgasket issue. There are real tests to determine that.

the oil cap is not milky its like white inside the cap. And i have checked for leaks and I cant find any leaks and when i checked my oil there appeared to be more oil or water I would say, The dipstick was full when i would pull it out.

Well I cant tell if theres bubbles or not cause its to hot to open it butthe first time I noticed it overheated the reservoir was boiling and water was dripping from there. What test can I perform to see if its a head gasket?

You have to do a compression test on all cylendars (sp?) to see if one or all are showing low compression. That would be the best way to see if you have a blown head gasket.
Your local autoparts store should have the test.

Well if the dipstick looks like chocolate milk and is overfull, then yes, you have water in your coolant, and if it's been like that for a while and you've been driving it around that way, you should probably be looking at a full rebuild kit, because coolant will destroy your bearings.
