What ifs lift to get. or just sas 1990 ext

I have a 1990 ext cab 22re, right now it has a 3" body lift and the 31's on it dont really fit the way i want it to look, i would like to run 35's possibly. So the QUESTION IS what IFS lift kit should I get? which would be best and easy to install. I have thoughts of doing a SAS although i wont be wheeling it anytime soon. what is the price of doing a SAS, if the SAS is cheaper then ill go that route but i know the ifs would be easier to do......i think not too sure where to go with this so please make some comments and help me out thanks- Chase

depend on what kind of wheeling your going to do. If your not going to wheel to much, the time money and effort on a SAS is prob not the best route for you to take. IFS lifts can be found on here used but as far as which is the best, that's seems to be a debatable issue

CV's would probably be the biggest issue, if you don't wheel it very often that shouldn't be a problem

Well the SAS you can get a bigger lift right? If i do that then the truck will not only look cooler but wouldnt have any problems on the trail. is there any drawbacks to the SAS?

If your worried about that then scrap the idea of running 35's. Even 33's are hard on steering components. You might get away with 35's on a trail only rig but for everyday use well.......

IMO 6" of lift on anything not running 40" tires is overkill. This includes the 3" added BL.

I've been there a couple of times as well as Walker, Tahuya, Reiter, Stuff in the Olympics and stuff of I-90. I'm only slightly modified over stock though..........

It works fine for me. Tahuya is the easiest of all the ORV's IMO....but its the PERFECT place for anyone to go and see how capable thier rigs are.

You can look up my build threads....

welcome to the forum! ill be nice cause im from enumclaw lol but to be fair i would say look around on the forum and educate yourself. look at what other people have done so you can get a better idea for plans for your truck. keep in mind you dont have to always put the largest tire to have a good 4wheeler. i know this for a fact cause ive played around up at evans and tahuya 100% stock and did ok.

most people wpild say if you want a cheaper lift get ball joint spacers and some 33's. it looks really good too. just search alot!!

i wheel teh poo outta my IFS on 35s an dits my only vehicle. i drive it about 300 miles a week no problems for teh first year atleast; but ill agree its extremely hard on teh balljoints and idler etc. just SAS it with 5in springs, 4 in blocks, run 54in Mich's and leave it it unlocked with 4.10s. youll spank ever body on the trail.

seriously though, i got a 2in BL, bj spacers and a 2in add a leaf and DD and wheel 35s. check out my build thread for pics

I just dont want to waste a lot of money putting in new front end parts, idk if the ifs or sas puts more stress on the front end components but thats just my main concern, long term crap happening. eventually this is going to be an only trail rig but for now its my dd

thanks for the advice and help!!
